IMSD will quit Premier Championship at end of 2007 season
IMSD Racing today announced that it would not be entering next year's Premier Endurance Championship. After five highly successful seasons, in which the team secured two Club Championships (2004 and 2005), two additional Championship podiums (2003 and 2006), and two Spa 10 hours Clubman wins (2005 and 2006) the team's four principal drivers are all forming new plans for 2008.

With team founders Ian Miller and Stephen Deuchar recently deciding to undertake only occasional races in 2008, Eddie Hall and Ian Wilson are seeking new opportunities in the Premier championship.

"We all feel it's time to move on to other things" said Stephen Deuchar earlier today. "though we're determined to finish 2007 strongly and will be working hard to secure a top ten place in the championship over the final three races".

The team has endured a difficult season, dogged by bad luck, but the decision to quit has been unanimous and amicable. The drivers all hope there will be opportunities to race together in some one-off events, yet to be identified.

"Apart from Lewis Hamilton, the best three racing drivers in the world are Ian Miller, Eddie Hall and Ian Wilson, and it's been a great pleasure and privilege to drive alongside them over the past few years", said Stephen. I shall be wholeheartedly supporting them, as well as my son Seth (IMSD reserve driver), in their future careers".

15 year-old Seth Scott Deuchar www.speedyseth.co.uk made his debut in this year's Lightweight Sprint Championship and plans to continue in the category next year to build up further experience before a possible move to Easykart in 2009. Meanwhile IMSD's star driver Eddie Hall www.eddiehall.co.uk is considering his options but is likely to be snapped up by one of the leading Premier teams for 2008.

IMSD will make a further announcement at the end of the season about any agreed fixtures for 2008. Races under consideration include the 24 hour Le Mans kart event, but for now the focus will be on building on last weekend's strong showing at Buckmore Park and finishing the 2007 season in style.
