IMSD’s string of podium finishes came to a damaging end at Bayford Meadows, after Ian Wilson was unceremoniously rammed by a slower kart.
The team went into the race as championship leaders, having to start at the back of the grid as a result. They were making steady progress up the field, when Ian Wilson was rammed by a slower kart at turn 1 after pulling off a great overtaking move.
Ian dived up the inside into turn 1, and the other kart simply lost it on the apex and rode over the back of IMSD’s kart, ripping half the bumper of in the process. The team lost nearly 5 laps in the pits while the damage was repaired.
This put them out of contention for a good result, but the trio drove at a blistering pace, managing to climb up the order to finish a respectable 13th at the flag. |
