Details have been released from an IMSD press conference last weekend, along with some secret photos of Seth racing in Club 100 under the team name ‘Double Esses.’ Seth’s lawyers have refused to let us publish the pictures, seeing as even if the pictures do contain Seth, they aren’t hugely relevant and breach copyright of IMSD Racing. Despite this we managed to catch up with the man himself at his home in Kent.
Web Editor: Hey, How’s it going? Seth Deuchar: Yeah everything’s great thanks WE: And how are you enjoying yourself at the moment? SD: Yeah, it’s fine really nothing much happening WE: You don’t seem very talkative SD: (laughs) well we both know you’re not here to find out how I’m enjoying myself! WE: You’ve heard the news then SD: Yeah, I have WE: Anything to say in you’re defence? SD: (laughs again) Well it’s not really about defence. I’m just sorry that the fans have had to find out this way; it’s seems like I’ve been going behind their backs but it’s not that simple WE: Explain… SD: Well I planned to announce that I was leaving F6 a few weeks ago in an official conference, but some team members couldn’t make it. Despite this I had to start considering my options for next year and despite me being a bit underage, Club 100 seemed the best choice for 2007 and the team were keen that I got a test in one of the karts before we started discussions with John Vigor. There were no test sessions that I could take part in, so I decided to do a rookie endurance race at Bayford Meadows. This race wasn’t particularly successful so I made the decision not to announce anything to the fans. WE: And have you raced since then? SD: Yeah, we had a more successful race at Rye House Speedway in appalling conditions, where we just missed out on a podium position, and last weekend I raced in another Rookie Endurance Race at Buckmore Park, where I was very quick but after many problems we could only scrape a top ten finish. WE: Well thanks so much for taking the time to speak to me, and are you sure that even for your official website you can’t confirm you’re move to Club 100 next year? SD: (laughs) Don’t push it now! No, I can’t confirm anything – Not even for you! WE: (Laughs along) Ok then, well anything to say before I go? SD: Nope, Just that I hope that the fans respect my decisions and will stand by me for next year!
I’m sure they will Seth! So, now you’ve heard the story direct from the horse’s mouth. We hope to be able to catch up with Seth again before the year is out, and I’m sure he hopes that no more secret info gets into the wrong ears as he makes his decisions with IMSD for 2007.
