Despite a difficult middle part of the season, Target Racing have achieved their goal for the 2009 season by scoring a podium place in their first year of competition.
Thanks largely to stand-in driver Kieran McCullough, the team qualified on pole position and lead the early stages of the race before a spin from Eddie Hall dropped them down to 10th. Two incidents in the pit lane – Eddie sliding into the fuel bowser and Chris Bell spinning in the pit entrance – potentially cost the team a victory but the disqualification of the Wolfie team for being underweight promoted them to 3rd place.
