The weeknd of the 2nd August 2009 saw another victory for Kemp at Ellough Park in Suffolk.
After qualifying well in the 3 heats, Kemp lined 2nd for the 12 lap final. Starting on the outside was always going to be tough and going into the 1st corner Kemp was pushed wide by the fast starting Matt Brooks allowing Pole sitter Glean Beard to pull away up front.
Brooks wasnt going to let Kemp pass without a fight and the pair started banging wheels going into the back part of the circuit allowing Daniel Gore to catch and pass the pair of them!
Kemp soon closed in on Brooks and Gore and passed the pair of them to mount a charge on Beard, who by this time had a big lead and was pulling away all the time.
Lap by lap Kemp closed Beard down, and by lap 9 was right on his tail. Beard started to drive defensively and Kemp saw his chance to make his move into the final corner.
From here Kemp started to pull away from Beard and crossed the line over a second ahead.
Kemp now leads the Championship by 59 points!
The next round is at Clay Pigeon 6th September 2009.
