How much does it cost?
The most obvious and usually most important question. There are a few areas that incur a cost and these are:
- Domain name registration. We can register, host and manage your website address for you. A dot com domain is £30 per year and a dot co.uk domain is £15 per year.
- Website design. This really depends how complicated you want the design but generally speaking we charge around £250 - £350 for a design.
- Web hosting. It costs us money to host a website so we have to pass this on unfortunately. There is an annual fee of £100 which includes 24/7 monitoring and backups.
So if you budget for a one-off fee of around £350 and an annual fee of around £130 you should be about right. Bargain!
What if I want it for free?
There are a lot of free options out there but generally speaking you get what you pay for. Or to put it another way; if the website is free it is likely to be crap! Web4Sport does offer sponsorship from time to time and a number of people have benefitted from free websites from us over the years. Feel free to put your case to us and if we think you are a suitable candidate, you may get a free website and hosting!
How do I edit my site?
Once we have designed your site and you are happy with the result, we embed our content management system. This allows you to edit the necessary elements without needing any programming knowledge. It really is easy!
What can I edit?
Web4Sport includes all the basic elements you would expect to see on a sports website. This includes pages for career results, event results, news, photos, profile, events calendar, sponsors and a contact page. You can also embed external news feeds and Youtube videos. Custom elements can be added at extra cost.
Can I design it myself?
Absolutely. It is your site and should look exactly how you want. Feel free to supply a JPG or PDF file of your design and, providing it is of a decent quality and the correct size for a website, we can turn your image into a website. We will obviously forego the design cost but will need to raise a small charge for converting the image into a web page. This cost will depend on the complexity of the design and will be quoted separately.
