A lap of the Top Gear test track

The first corner after the start-straight is Crooner Curves, a tricky, fast left-hander with two apexes and a lot of camber.

The next corner is Chicago, on the right-hand side of the tyre wall and into a medium fast right hander. This corner is vital to get right as a lot of time can be lost by running wide as the outside wheels load up.

After Chicago it is flat out round a sweeping bend and up to the end of the runway up to Hammerhead. A tricky left/right that is very difficult to get right and easy to understeer.

Put the power down at the exit of the Hammerhead and into the Follow Through (so called because you just might if you take it flat out, according to Jeremy Clarkson). This is easily the fastest corner on the circuit. Tyre wall on the right, grass verge on the left, and just enough room to squeeze through slightly sideways.

Rejoining the runway at the exit of the Follow Through, hitting fourth if you've got the exit from the Follow Through right. Down to Bacharach - a tricky, high-speed left-hander. This corner is designed to test brake balance and rewards those late brakers.

Providing you haven't braked too late into Bacharach, you approach the final corner - Gambon (originally named Carpenters Corner but was renamed after Michael Gambon's two wheel exploits).

Flat out after Gambon and back across the start-finish line.
